Privacy & Security
RideDat requires sign-in and uses Firebase for authentication and crash reporting. Cloud sync is optional. When enabled, bike and ride or charge history sync to our servers. Test builds also use diagnostics. Optional leaderboards show your public alias and selected statistics. See the privacy policy for the full data details.
Locally, your password is stored on your device. With cloud sync enabled, a backup of your password is stored on our servers in reversible, obfuscated form so it can be restored to your account on your other devices. It is not end-to-end encrypted.
Keep your bike password private and only share access with people you trust. RideDat controls do not replace the bike key or other ways of keeping your bike secure. Never rely on the app alone to secure or assess your bike.
Troubleshooting
Make sure the bike is turned on and nearby, and that Bluetooth is enabled. Allow the Bluetooth or nearby-device permissions RideDat requests. If the bike still does not appear, restart the app and try again.
Move closer to the bike, then close and reopen RideDat. Check that another phone or app is not connected to the bike. If the connection keeps dropping, contact support and tell us which phone and bike you use.
Check the reading against the bike display when it is safe to do so. If it still looks wrong, send support a screenshot and tell us your bike model and software version.
